On the winding road to Skipton you see the turn off for Bolton Abbey. There isn't a clue of the treat that awaits you as you round a curve to see what is left of the magnificent old Abbey. Henry VIII is the one they blame for the ruinous state they are in today. You could spend a whole day hiking around the grounds and up on the moor.

On the winding road to Skipton you see the turn off for Bolton Abbey. There isn't a clue of the treat that awaits you as you round a curve to see what is left of the magnificent old Abbey.
